It’s been a busy week….

this week. I had an unexpected visit from my mother (who currently lives overseas) and is staying with us for two weeks. It’s lovely to see her and, as this visit coincides with her birthday today, tonight we’re going out for a meal and a chance to set work aside and just relax.

I did manage to do some work this week though – I’ve been working on some handbag cards. I haven’t done any of these for a while and I had forgotten how lovely they turn out. No two are alike and most of the time I make these to commission and are made specifically for the recipient, but these ones I made just because. One is made using a gorgeous yellow paper with deco roses and the other with Kozo paper, my favourite paper medium at the moment.

These cards comprise of a little bi-fold card to write your message on, a handbag-shaped envelope to put your card and a paper gift (money or vouchers) in and a matching box. They’re something just a little different and special. To see more of the handbag cards I’ve made in the past, click here.

That’s what little girls are made of. Two new cards for our General Cards department. These lovely little dress-shaped cards can be used as birth announcements or to congratulate on the birth of a new baby girl.

Emergency Boxes

I’ve been working on a couple of new products this week…one specifically for men.

To all the men out there, if you are anything like my husband, you’re frequently to be found panic shopping the night before an event…such as birthday, wedding anniversary. Well, here’s your lifesaver, a box of cards covering all the major events of the year…and it even has a list of dates for 2011 and space to write your own ones.

Brand new range for 2010

We’ve just this minute launched our new range for 2010 and we’ve come over all flowery this time! I got some nicely timed funds so splurged out on some new paper punches and had a bit of a play………well, it’s not work when you enjoy doing it is it?

This new range is a bit different from my usual style, but I have to say, I really do like them. This example is Erika, a square invitation made of white linen card, embellished with a black ribbon and highlighted with a monochrome daisy with a diamante centre. I’ve made up Erika in a section of the range of this design…showing the invitation, name place card (two styles), favours and cake box, table number card and table plan.

Something a little different…

I’ve been working on a new invitation for the past couple of days. I actually saw this idea in a book a while ago and thought it was quite interesting. Unfortunately I didn’t have the supplies to hand at the time, so forgot all about it until I had a clean out of my workspace the other week and came across some Kozo paper. I love this stuff, it’s so beautiful and versatile. So here’s the latest design…Alanna, let me know what you think.
